The beggar girl's furious scream interrupted the millionaires' celebration and left everyone in shock.

A raging storm broke over the city, with lightning tearing across the sky and rain flooding the streets.

But the darkness felt most intense at the landfill, where ten-year-old Lily Moore rummaged through the sodden garbage, searching for anything she could sell.

Her enormous coat trailed on her thin frame, her boots barely stayed together, and hunger drove her on despite the cold.

She hadn't eaten in over a day, but she whispered over and over, "Just one more," thinking of the market and the coins that could buy her something warm.

As she made her way to her cardboard shelter, an unfamiliar sound stopped her: the soft, expensive hum of an engine.

Lily hid behind stacks of tires as a pristine black car appeared.

A woman got out, nervous, carrying a bundle. After glancing around, she placed it among piles of trash, covered it, and sped away.

When silence returned, Lily cautiously approached. Under a box and several bags, she found a warm blanket. It was moving.

Inside, a baby was crying. The shock passed quickly. Lily held the baby close to her chest, whispering comforting words.

She found a silver chain with a name engraved on it: REYNOLDS—the same wealthy family she'd seen in the advertisements. Even so, she shook her head. “No one deserves this.”

With her last few coins, Lily bought formula at a pharmacy, though it wasn't enough.

The clerk silently let her in. That night, in her small shelter, she fed the baby and stayed awake, protecting him until the storm finally passed.

At dawn, Lily walked for hours toward the Reynolds mansion.

When she arrived, she froze. Decorations, guests, and a sign welcomed baby Oliver Reynolds.

Inside, Daniel and Claire proudly held a pristine infant. But Lily gasped when she saw the nanny. She knew that face.

It was the woman from the landfill. Her name tag read: Maria.

Lily burst in, muddy shoes clinging to the white carpet. “How can you celebrate after throwing a baby in the trash?” she yelled.

The guards moved forward, but Lily threw the silver chain to the ground.
